About

Background

Having developed a passion for plants over twenty years ago I decided to quit the London commute to study at the Oxford College of Garden Design, completing the course in 2002. Working with associate designers and landscapers I was then able to quickly develop an extensive portfolio of projects and established a reputation for outstanding work.

The Importance of Investing in Design

I believe that good garden design is a strong combination of practical and aesthetic elements.

I understand how to organise space within the garden and the importance of linking them together effectively. This approach creates a strong relationship between spaces resulting in a cohesive overall scheme. This part of the process is one of the biggest challenges for any garden and also one of the most enjoyable and satisfying to resolve! Materials and plants are then overlaid on to the ground plan adding texture, volume, colour and form. By repeating materials and plants stronger connections between spaces are created.

I am aware that every site and clients requirements are unique and tailor my work to suit both you and your garden.

By investing in design before commencing work on the garden layout issues are resolved, avoiding mistakes that can be costly to rectify. You will have a clear idea of how the garden will look and the contractor will have a set of instructions on how to build the garden.

Plants and Wildlife

Discovering new plant associations and developing interesting schemes for our gardens is always exciting. I understand all the plants utilised in my schemes, trialling them in my own garden before unleashing them on my clients. I am passionate about planting for wildlife, incorporating into my work plants that attract birds, bees and other pollinators into the garden.

We were thrilled with the garden this year, the succession of plants has been really exciting and still so much more to come! We have spent so much time outside, thank you so much for all your hard work, we couldn't have done it without you!
