Terraced Garden
PROJECT INFO: Modern House
LOCATION: Wingrave, Buckinghamshire
Sloping site split into three distinct terraces with rendered walling and a simple Mediterranean style planting palette.
This garden had an extreme slope requiring extensive terracing to create usable level spaces. The overall height change from the upper terrace to the lawn was just over 2 metres. Three distinct zones were created, a breakfast terrace, main dining space and space for loungers.
These areas are connected with steps laid at ninety degrees to the house to create a more interesting route through the garden.
A restricted planting palette using box, olive, lavender and herbs create a Mediterranean style feel.
